
Surfing Competition Held in Cabugao

In a world filled with cookie cutter experiences, a morning or afternoon surfing is an Experience to Remember for a Lifetime.
That’s why more than 100 surfers from la Union, Siargao, Lanuza, Camarines norte, Baler, Quezon, Samar, NCR, Baguio and Ilocos sur joined the surfing competition for Cong. Ronald V. Singson surfing cup. The said event was held at Kido’s Point in the municipality of Cabugao, Ilocos Sur last Dec. 10-13.
Young surfers started their adventure on the said beach while getting them suited up with their correct sized booties, rash guards, and surfboards. Then they go through a 10-15 minute water safety briefing, along with a demonstration on the best ways to paddle their surfboard, get into waves, how to stand up, and stay up!
After paddling out together where the waves are breaking, their friends are there to coach and guide them into the rides of your life! On this kind of competition of Cong. Singson correct wave etiquette, style, and technique can be seen and experience. It can also help the economic status of the municipality of Cabugao. Both Mayor Diocaesar and Sabang Brgy. Capt. Francisco ‘Paco” Savellano said, It’s a big help for the municipality in having this kind of event.
‘It’s a big aid for us because it can hearten the vacationer to come and it can boost up our economic status” Brgy. Capt. Savellano said.
The said surfing done in Cabugao beach Resort was full of fun and excitement tide enjoys being more of a soul surfer which enables the surfer to travel and surf freely. They enjoys competing with other surfer came from their respective province to show their skills on the said aquatic sports. This program of cong. Singson is one way of building good camaraderie and rapport between other people from other province. It’s also another avenue and schemes of the government to strengthen tourism in the province.
